Coastal scenes, barbeques, marinas, cafés, nudes and
jazz players populate his colourful Cezanne like landscapes. Rob
travels yearly seeking inspiration, visiting Europe and Asia. His
paintings reflect the blues and white of Greek Islands, golds and greens of
Tuscany or Languedoc, the busy-ness, vibrancy and colour of Asian
Rob was the District Adviser, Art & Design for the Ministry of Education and the University of Waikato, where he was responsible for developing and providing courses and school development programmes. He was involved in Art Curriculum development and in an advisory capacity for the National Educational Monitoring Programme.
Rob has presented papers and workshops at international conferences and acted as NZ guest judge for an International Children's Art Exhibition in China. He now runs a few art courses for adults, including a residential course in January each year.
His paintings hang in many countries and in homes from Kaitaia to Bluff. Rob has been included in many publications including contributed articles and supporting photographs to the book: "Art in Schools" – the New Zealand Experience .
Co-author of the two books: "Te Koru" and "Kowhaiwhai Arts".
